KAPOLEI, Hawai'i - UC Riverside is through 36 holes at the Kapolei Invitational, held at the Kapolei Golf Course following Wednesday's second round.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Mark Gao enjoyed a hot start to round two, birdying four of his first eight holes to be 2-under at the turn. 
• Josh Hu, Cortez Herrera and Nik Kittilson were all at or under par on the front nine, led by Kittilson's 2-under with seven pars and birdies on two and eight. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

• Hu recorded UCR's third eagle of the tournament, going 2-under on the par 4 ninth hole. 
• Kittilson parred seven of his first eight holes for the day. 
• Hu, Kittilson and Herrera recorded seven pars each in each of their front nine performances while Hu and Herrera recorded their second rounds at or under par of the tournament.
