Flynn Cameron Tabbed Big West Player of the Week

RIVERSIDE, Calif.  - Flynn Cameron picked up his second individual honor of the day on Monday afternoon, earning Big West Player of the Week for his role in one of the most historic weeks in UC Riverside men's basketball Division I history.

UCR has now earned a program-record four Big West weekly honors in a season. The Kiwi's back-to-back 20-point outings helped UCR secure the first season sweep of Long Beach State since 2008-09 and first ever season sweep of UC Santa Barbara.

Cameron averaged 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game last week and shot well over 50 percent from the floor in both contests. The sharp shooter drained seven threes against the Beach for the second time this season and third in his UCR career as part of an 8-for-14 evening.

Against the Gauchos, Cameron shot 58 percent and passed Dragan Elkaz on the program's Division I single-season threes list, moving into a tie for sixth with Rickey Porter as UCR picked up win number 18 for the first time in its Division I era.

All told, the New Zealand native shot 57.7 percent from the field, 58.8 percent from three and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.

UC Riverside will take on CSUN on Monday, February 20 in Northridge on ESPN+.
