JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. - The Joust has been halted due to darkness in the middle of round two, and while the remainder of the event will take place on Tuesday, it doesn't negate the fact that UC Riverside has two competitors in the top 20 entering the final day.
Josh Hu was alone in second after 18 holes, carding one of six sub-70 scores out of 84 golfers in round one. Hu was -5 on the back nine of round one with five birdies and went almost bogey-free, going one-over on the second hole.
Minjae Park, who is competing as an individual, caught fire in the second round and bumped 12 spots into a top-10 position. Park had a rocky end to his first round, but still finds himself in a tie for 18th going into Tuesday's final day and then some.
Three Highlanders are no more than three over par with the remainder of round two still to be played. The Joust will finish out round two first thing Tuesday morning before round three commences shortly after.
