
Highlanders Fall to UC Davis

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside dropped an 83-63 Big West contest to UC Davis on Thursday night at the SRC Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ben Griscti got cooking quickly for UCR with six straight points in a fast-paced start to the first game of 2024.
- UCR tied the Aggies with 19 rebounds apiece in the first half, highlighted by a 7-0 advantage on the offensive glass that led to 10 second chance points.
- UC Riverside went on a 10-2 run in the second half with Griscti leading the charge behind his second three of the night. The transfer made four of his final five field goals of the night and tallied 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- UCR shot over 80% from the free throw line for the second straight game and now has done so twice in Big West play, led by Kyle Owens' 10-for-11 performance Thursday against the Aggies.
- Owens' 10 makes from the free throw line propelled him to UC Riverside's fourth double double of the year from a third different Highlander, as Owens went for 17 points and 10 rebounds in the Highlanders' first game of the new year.
- Isaiah Moses grabbed a career-high four steals on the night while recording his fifth game this year with at least seven assists. Moses has now recorded at least seven assists in three of his last four games.
