UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - UC Riverside placed two finishers in the top 40 of its final tournament before the Big West Championship, capping off the Redhawk Invitational on Tuesday at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Josh Hu birdied his first hole of the day followed by three straight bogeys but pushed through for a strong finish with even par on his final 10 holes.  
• Chanhee Ryu faced similar adversity on the back nine but made the turn with an eagle on one and posted a 3-under on the front nine.  
• Ryu posted his second round in the 60s on the season and first of the spring.  
• Mark Gao and Maddox Yi each posted a 78 (+7) in round three.  

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

• UC Riverside tied for fifth in the field with 163 pars.  
• This is the third time this season – fall or spring – that both Hu and Ryu have finished in the top 40.
