SALEM, Ore. — UC Riverside wrapped up the opening day of play at the Oregon State Invitational with rounds of 305 and 306 on Monday at Illahe Hills Country Club, finishing the first 36 holes at 611.
Stephen Luo led the Highlanders with rounds of 72 (E) and 76 (+4) for a two-round total of 148 (+4), highlighted by a steady opening round that featured 12 pars and three birdies.
Samuel Bonzoumet followed with rounds of 78 (+6) and 75 (+3), showing solid ball-striking in the afternoon to climb three spots on the leaderboard. Jacob Vazquez carded 79 (+7) and 76 (+4), while Caden Breisch matched that total with rounds of 76 (+4) and 79 (+7). Chanhee Ryu rounded out the lineup with rounds of 79 (+7) and 80 (+8).
UC Riverside will return to the course Tuesday for the final round at the Oregon State Invitational.
