STOCKTON, Calif. — The Highlanders opened play at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational with a strong team showing, carding an even-par 288 to sit in seventh place after the first round at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
The Highlanders were led by a pair of 3-under 69s from Caden Breisch and Jacob Vazquez, who both capitalized on hot starts and steady putting to finish inside the top 10. Stephen Luo followed closely behind with an even-par 72 to tie for 28th.
Samuel Bonzoumet posted a 78 and Chanhee Ryu rounded out the lineup with an 81.
UC Riverside will look to carry its momentum into Friday's second round, aiming to climb the leaderboard in the 17-team field.
