LAS VEGAS, Nev. - UC Riverside fell to the UNLV Hustlin' Rebels, 16-5, in their midweek road game at Earl E. Wilson Stadium in the Silver State.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Highlanders broke onto the scoreboard early with a run in the top of the first inning, after Dominic Martinez and Cole Koniarsky singled to get on base.
Most of the damage by UNLV was done in the first two innings, as the Rebels poured in 13 runs in the first two frames.
In top of the third, Rocha belted an RBI single to center field to score Martinez, on base from a hit to lead off the inning.
UNLV offense added a run per inning to their scoreline in the third, fourth and fifth innings.
The Highlanders added a pair of runs in the fourth inning with a two-RBI single from Zachary Chamizo.
UCR put the final run on the board in the sixth with another RBI single from Rocha.

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS

Cole Koniarsky extended his hitting streak to 21 games going three for four with one run.
In addition to Koniarsky, Dominic Martinez and Andrew Rivas both went three for four. Martinez had two runs and Rivas had one run on the day.
Zachary Chamizo and Bubba Rocha each contributed a pair of RBI's.

UP NEXT

UC Riverside is back at the Plex Friday, April 26 for game one of a three-game Big West series against #12 UC Irvine. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
