COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UC Riverside returned to the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational on Saturday to start the 2024-25 season with round one of the Air Force-hosted tournament at the Eisenhower Golf Course.   

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• UCR braved gusty conditions with up to 30 mile per hour winds in Colorado for round one as four of five Highlanders parred the 10th hole to start the morning.  
• Nik Kittilson and Kamaljit Singh both parred 10 and birdied 11. Singh briefly struggled with three bogeys on the back nine but responded well at the turn, going just 1-over on the front nine. 
• Freshman Hartej Grewal was even par through the day's first five holes while Kittilson was 1-under in the same stretch. 
• Despite a double bogey on eight, Kittilson finished at 3-over on the front nine alongside Singh. 

NOTABLES 

• Freshman Liam Hartling recorded a birdie on his first collegiate hole. 
• Grewal enjoyed a positive start and end to his first collegiate round, shooting a 77 (+5) after parring his first four and last three holes.  
• Singh was 1-under on holes three through eight for a strong finish and stands as the Highlanders' leader in the clubhouse after 18 holes; he and Kittilson both reside in the top 50 on the individual leaderboard.
