RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Andrew Henderson delivered one of the best performances of his Highlander career Monday afternoon, scoring 34 points and surpassing the 1,000-point milestone as UC Riverside defeated Grambling 83–74 at SRC Arena .
Henderson shot 12-for-17 from the field, added six rebounds and one steal, and took over in the second half as the Highlanders outscored Grambling 53–38 after halftime. His scoring surge pushed him past 1,000 career points; he entered the day needing 15 to reach the mark and now stands at 1,019.
De'Undrae Perteete added 19 points on 5-for-7 shooting, including a pair of threes, and finished 7-for-8 from the line. Osiris Grady added 12 points and Jailen Daniel-Dalton contributed 10 points, respectively, with both securing nine rebounds. Marqui Worthy Jr. scored eight points with three assists and two rebounds, while BJ Kolly added three blocks and two rebounds.
UC Riverside shot 55.3 percent from the field and 77.4 percent at the free-throw line, turning a 36–30 halftime deficit into a double-digit lead with a strong second-half stretch fueled by Henderson, Perteete and Grady. Henderson scored 22 of his 34 after the break, including several drives and mid-range jumpers that shifted momentum in UCR's favor.
UC Riverside, now 4–3, heads back on the road for its next matchup, traveling to Utah Tech on Saturday, Nov. 29 in St. George.
