PALM DESERT, Calif. — The UC Riverside Highlanders delivered a stellar second round at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, posting a 282 (-6) to surge into eighth place with a two-round total of 573 (-3). The Highlanders showed resilience and consistency, shaving nine strokes off their opening round of 291 (+3) to move up the leaderboard at the Classic Club.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hartej Grewal led the way for UC Riverside, firing an impressive career low 67 (-5) in the second round, placing him in a tie for 13th at 139 (-5).
- Von Wasson also stepped up, carding a 69 (-3) in round two, moving him into a tie for 33rd at 142 (-2).
- Liam Hartling followed with a 73 (+1), placing him in a tie for 46th at 145 (+1).
- Chanhee Ryu finished with a 73 (+1) as well, tying for 54th at 147 (+3).
- Mark Gao improved on his opening round 76 (+4) by posting a 75 (+3) in round two, placing him in a tie for 70th at 151 (+7).
