LA JOLLA, Calif. — The UC Riverside Highlanders wrapped up the UC San Diego Invitational with their best round of the tournament, shooting a 294 (+6) on Wednesday at Torrey Pines South Course. The final-day performance lifted the Highlanders to seventh place out of 20 teams, with a three-round total of 902 (+38).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Von Wasson paced UC Riverside with a steady even-par 72, finishing tied for 14th at 224 (+8). Wasson tallied four birdies in his final round including three in the back nine.
- Liam Hartling recorded his lowest round of the tournament, a 1-under 71, make a jump of 24 spots to finish tied for 18th at 225 (+9).
- Hartej Grewal, who led the team through the first two rounds, posted a 77 (+5) in the final round to also finish T18 at 225 (+9).
- Stephen Luo shot a 75 (+3) and finished tied for 45th at 231 (+15).
- Mark Gao posted a 76 (+4) to close out his tournament tied for 73rd at 234 (+18).
