NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — The Highlanders leaned on a career night from Marqui Worthy Jr., but the Highlanders were unable to overcome a late CSUN surge in an 88–74 decision.
Worthy Jr. turned in the best scoring performance of his career, pouring in a career-high 36 points on 12-of-25 shooting, including five three-pointers, to anchor the Highlanders' offense from start to finish. The senior guard accounted for nearly half of UC Riverside's points and consistently answered CSUN runs to keep the game within reach.
Andrew Henderson finished with 12 points and anchored the defensive end with two blocks, while Kolly contributed six rebounds, three assists and a block in limited minutes. Jailen Daniel-Dalton added eight rebounds and four points, helping UC Riverside stay competitive on the glass.
UC Riverside shot 37.7 percent from the field and an efficient 92.3 percent at the free-throw line, converting 12-of-13 attempts. The Highlanders forced 11 turnovers and recorded seven steals, maintaining pressure throughout the contest.
The Highlanders are back in the SRC Arena Thursday, February 12th, as they face UC Santa Barbara for a 7pm tipoff.
