Tim Bross enters his first season as assistant coach with the UC Riverside men’s basketball program in 2025–26. A proven recruiter and developer of talent, Bross brings more than a decade of coaching experience across the Division I, II, and III levels, including three seasons as a collegiate head coach.
“Tim is one of the best coaches on the West Coast who brings head coaching experience, elite recruiting ties, and a tireless work ethic,” said coach Argenal. “He embodies the character that a mentor to our student-athletes should exhibit. His ability to connect, lead, and coach will make the entire athletic department better. I am lucky to have someone who I have worked side by side with over the last two seasons where we won championships, raised banners, and changed the academic standards. We welcome Tim, and his family Crista, Lee, and Makana to the squad!”
Prior to joining UC Riverside, Bross spent two seasons as the lead assistant at Cal State San Bernardino, helping guide the Yotes to historic success. During his tenure, CSUSB posted a 50-20 overall record, won the 2024 CCAA Regular Season and NCAA Division II West Region Championships, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four.
As CSUSB’s recruiting coordinator, Bross assembled an impressive two-year class of 20 players that produced four All-CCAA First Team selections, one Second Team honoree, an All-CCAA Honorable Mention, the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year, the 2024 NCAA West Region Tournament Most Valuable Player, and an All-American. His efforts also contributed to the team achieving a 3.136 GPA in Fall 2024 and raising more than $35,000 in external support.
Before his time at CSUSB, Bross served as head coach at Cal Maritime from 2020–23, leading the Keelhaulers to back-to-back postseason appearances while mentoring multiple all-conference selections. He also made impactful stops as an assistant coach at the University of Redlands, Chaminade University, Hawaii Pacific University, and the University of Hawaii. Across his career, Bross has recruited and coached more than 30 all-conference players and nearly 25 student-athletes who went on to sign professional contracts.
A Washington state native, Bross graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in journalism and political science before earning a master’s in education from Hawaii Pacific University. He resides in Southern California with his wife, Crista, and children Lee and Makana.
