Krysta Guerrero serves as Senior Director of Development for UC Riverside Athletics, bringing nearly two decades of experience in Division I athletics fundraising and higher education advancement. Since joining UCR in 2012, she has been a driving force behind the department’s philanthropic growth, helping expand donor engagement, annual giving, and major gifts support.
In her current role, Guerrero leads strategic fundraising initiatives for all 17 Division I programs, securing transformational and planned gifts while significantly increasing major gift support. She has been instrumental in advancing campaign priorities, strengthening alumni and donor relationships, and building sustainable resources that enhance the student-athlete experience. A highly valued member of the Highlander family, Guerrero brings deep institutional knowledge and a collaborative approach that has helped shape the trajectory of UCR Athletics.
Prior to UCR, Guerrero spent five years at Eastern Washington University, where she led annual giving efforts and managed athletic donor programs and engagement initiatives.
A recognized leader in athletics development, she has been actively involved with the National Association of Athletic Development Directors and is a two-time Diversity Initiative Award recipient.
Guerrero earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, with concentrations in management and human resource management, from Eastern Washington University, and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Redlands.
She grew up in Kailua Kona, Hawai'i, and remains deeply connected to service and youth development. She volunteers as a youth coach with Riverside Parks and Recreation and Grove Youth Sports, serves as a consultant for Cultural Care Au Pair host families, and supports youth athletics through her involvement with Gate City Youth Sports. She and her husband, Oscar, are proud parents to their busy boys, Maverick and Ace.
