Irvine, CA—The Big West named UC Riverside libero Maddie Hubbell to the All-Conference First Team, outside hitter Helena Peric to the All-Conference Honorable Mention Team, and setter Chelsea Doyle to the All-Freshman Team.
The trio was part of a history making team that recorded its first double-digit win campaign since 2005, and set the program record for Big West Conference victories in a season.
Hubble, a junior from Bakersfield, finished first in the Big West in total digs (525) and digs per set (4.91). Those totals landed her fourth on the Highlanders all-time lists in both categories. She also had more than 30 digs on three occasions and was twice named
Big West Defensive Player of the Week.
Before Hubble's First Team All-Conference selection this year, Amanda Vialpondo was the last Highlander to be chosen, in 2011.
Helena Peric, a senior from Smederevo, Serbia, led the team in kills with 3.12 per set, which was good enough for eighth in the Big West. She was also named conference
Player of the Week for games played the week of November 2-8.
Doyle, from San Diego, is the fifth member of the Highlanders to earn All-Freshman accolades joining Jamie DeKiewiet (2002), Megan Reza (2011), Ashley Cox (2012) and Alex Gresham (2014), .
She ranked third in the Big West in total assists (941), fifth in assists per set (8.91) and eighth in service aces (15). Doyle tallied over 50 assists in three different matches this season.
