Reno, NV—Senior goalkeeper Kristin Cocks registered her second straight shutout to lead the UC Riverside Highlanders to a 2-0 win over Eastern Washington at the Wolf Pack Classic at Mackay Stadium on Sunday.
The Highlanders struck in the 40th minute on an unassisted goal for Jessica Armel, her third of the year, from the top of the box. Tracy Shuster's first goal of the season added insurance in the 51st minute off an assist by Tanya Noonan. UCR outshot the Eagles, 10-7 in the game.
Cocks had three saves while Eastern Washington 'keeper Katie Grothkopp had five saves.
The Highlanders return to action on Friday against Prarie View A&M in a tournament in El Paso, Texas with a game time of 3:00 PM.
