Men's Basketball Returns Home To Host UC Davis, Thursday At 7 pm PT

UC Riverside vs. UC Davis Game Notes
UC Riverside snapped a five-game losing streak with a 65-56 win at UC Irvine on Saturday, January 23 which also ended a six-game road slide for the Highlanders and a nine-game skid on the Anteaters home court. They now return home to the Student Recreation Center where they have fared much better over the past two seasons posting a 17-4 mark since the start of the 2008-09 season. Tip time is 7 pm PT,. UCR fans who are unable to attend may listen to all the action as The Voice of the Highlanders, John Ramey, brings the call to gohighlanders.com.
Dwight Gordon scored a career-high 19 points in the win while Kyle Austin added 18. Austin continues to be the Highlanders leading scorer on the year averaging 16.9 points per game including 19.3 in conference play.
UCR and UC Davis split their two meetings from a year ago with each team winning on its home court. Brandon Dowdy’s 12 points off the bench led three Highlanders in double figure scoring in UCR’s 58-53, February 7, 2009 win over the Aggies. Austin led UCR with 17 points in the team’s 65-58 loss to UCD on January 8, 2009.
The Aggies enter Thursday night’s game having lost three of their last four games including their most recent decision—a 77-61 loss at Pacific on Saturday. Joe Harden scored 19 points for UCD in the loss while the Aggies leading scorer, Dominic Calegari was held to nine points.
