UC Riverside vs. Cal State Fullerton Game Notes
The Cal State Fullerton Titans make their way to UC Riverside’s Student Recreation Center this Saturday, January 9 as the Highlanders men’s basketball team makes its 2010 television debut on FSN West beginning at 4 pm PT. UCR fans can also listen to all the action as The Voice of the Highlanders, John Ramey, brings the call to gohighlanders.com.
Saturday's game is the first of three televised games for UCR during the regular season as FSN Prime Ticket broadcasts the Highlanders January 23 road contest against UC Irvine and FSN West shows the season finale at Long Beach State on March 5.
UC Riverside enters the meeting with the Titans looking to start a new home winning streak as their string of 10 consecutive victories as the SRC fell by the wayside in a 57-53 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Monday, January 5. Kyle Austin (pictured) scored 20 points in the game to lead all scorers and Rudy Meo came off the bench to score 15. The loss dropped the Highlanders to 7-7 overall and 1-1 in the Big West.
Cal State Fullerton is 5-7 on the year and lost its first conference game of the season, 67-63, at UC Davis on Saturday, January 2. Prior to their meeting with the Highlanders, the Titans host Long Beach State on Thursday, January 7.
The Cal State Fullerton offensive attack is as balanced as they come with three players—Jacques Streeter, Aaron Thompson, and Johnson Jer’Vaughn— averaging between 10.3 and 10.8 points per game. Their next three highest scorers average between 8.0 and 8.9 points per game.
