10/28/2010 10:25:26 AM | Men's Soccer
Riverside—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team is coming off of a heart-breaking 2-1 loss to seventh-ranked UC Irvine Wednesday after being forced to play a man down for two thirds of the match due to a red card in the 28th minute. There's no time to wonder 'what if?' though, as the Highlanders travel to Cal State Northridge on Saturday for a 7 pm PT meeting with the Matadors. Fans who are unable to attend that match may follow it on their computers via Game Tracker.
The Highlanders (4-10-1, 1-6-0) have yet to beat Cal State Northridge (2-12-2, 1-5-1) in their Division I era as the Matadors boast a 12-0-6 mark in 18 matches against UCR.
The top four teams in the conference advance to the Big West Tournament, and the Highlanders are still in the mix for a spot.
UC Riverside must run the table by beating Northridge (Oct. 30), Davis (Nov. 3) and UC Santa Barbara (Nov. 6) in order to make the postseason, and they also will need some help from a few other teams as well.
