Men's Basketball Enters "Home" Stretch With Three Road Games

UC Riverside at Pacific Game Notes
The Big West Conference regular season is in the home stretch as the Highlanders have three games left on their schedule, all on the road beginning with Thursday evening’s trip north to Pacific for a 7 pm PT tip against the Tigers. Fans who are unable to make the trip may listen to all the action as The Voice of the Highlanders, John Ramey, brings the call to gohighlanders.com.
The top eight teams in the conference advance to the postseason tournament, and UC Riverside finds itself in a tie for that final eighth spot with UC Irvine. The Highlanders own the tiebreaker with the Anteaters having beaten them twice this season so should the teams end the year with identical records, UCR would be the eight-seed in Anaheim.
UC Irvine finishes the season with a home game Saturday against Cal State Northridge and road games at UC Santa Barbara on March 3 and at Cal Poly on March 6.
Meanwhile, Pacific still has its sites set on a regular season Big West Championship. They were first in the conference for much of the season but a recent UC Santa Barbara hot streak has the Tigers a half game out of first place.
Pacific handed the Highlanders a 72-57 loss on January 30 led by Sam Williams 20 points. The Tigers also held UCR’s Kyle Austin to just eight points on the night—the fewest points he has scored in a conference game all season.
