
Baseball Heads South For Single Game Tuesday With San Diego Toreros

UC Riverside at San Diego Game Notes
Riverside—The UC Riverside Baseball Team heads south this Tuesday for a single game at San Diego before heading northward to Saint Mary's for a four-game series with Saint Mary's. First pitch is slated for 3 pm PT, and UCR fans who can't make the trip can listen to the game via the electric interweb at gohighlanders.com as the Voice of the Highlanders, John Ramey, brings the call from Cunningham Baseball Stadium.
Freshman Trevor Frank (pictured) will try and keep his perfect 2-0 record on the year intact against the Toreros who counter with Casey Schmidt (0-1, 10.12).
In hist last start, Frank held UCLA, ranked as high as second in the nation in the various polls this week, to just five hits and two earned runs in 6.0 innings. He left with the score tied at two and did not figure in the decision.
The Toreros come into the mid-week match with an 11-10 mark after taking two of three from Rice over the weekend. San Diego has played five games against Big West competition so far this season going 0-2 against UC Irvine, 0-2 against Cal State Fullerton and 0-1 against Cal State Northridge.
