Baseball Hits Road For Next Seven Games Beginning With LBSU Friday

UC Riverside at Long Beach State Game Notes
Long Beach, CA—The UC Riverside Baseball Team is on the road for the next seven games, spanning two weeks, beginning with this weekend's Big West Conference series match up at Long Beach State. First pitch Friday is slated for 6:30 pm PT, and fans who are unable to attend can listen live online as the Voice of the Highlanders, Ghizal, Hasan, brings the call from the press box to gohighlanders.com. The Highlanders are coming off of a come-from-behind, 6-5 victory over UNLV on Tuesday (View Highlights) which gave the team wins in four of its last five games. Friday starter Matt Andriese (1-3, 3.30) was credited with one of those wins—the first of the season for the Redlands, CA native. On Saturday, Dustin Emmons (3-1, 4.50) will get the start for the second straight weekend as Matt Larkins rests an injured forearm. Trevor Frank (1-1, 3.12) rounds out the UC Riverside rotation on Sunday.
The 49ers have dropped three of four, and have struggled scoring since a 20-run outburst at Pacific on April 1. Since that time, Long Beach has scored just 21 runs over seven games. LBSU's weekend rotation is tentatively scheduled to consist of Andrew Gagnon (4-4, 2.55), Shawn Stuart (2-2, 3.16) and Ryan Strufing (2-0, 3.86).
