Huntsville, TX—The UC Riverside Baseball Team packs its bags this weekend for a road trip to the Lone Star State where they square off against the Bearkats of Sam Houston State. The three-game series is slated for Friday, March 2 at 4:30 pm PT, Saturday, March 3 at 2:30 and Sunday, March 4 at 11 am.

The Highlanders (3-5) are coming off of a tough loss to San Diego Tuesday evening that saw them battle back from a three-run deficit only to give up the lead and the game in the eighth and ninth innings as the Toreros won 8-5 (recap).

The Bearkats (4-4), meanwhile, enter the weekend series having dropped two in a row and three of four. They began the 2012 season by taking two of three games from San Diego.

UC Riverside's weekend rotation remains unchanged with Dylan Stuart (1-1, 3.68) taking the mound on Friday, Eddie Orozco (1-1, 3.48) pitching on Saturday and Trevor Frank (0-1, 6.23) throwing on Sunday.

Sam Houston counters with LHP Cody Dickson (0-1, 1.00) on Friday, RHP Justin Jackson (2-0. 0.90) on Saturday and the ever-popular "To Be Determined" on Sunday.

Despite having his career-opening seven-game hitting streak ended Tuesday evening, freshman Devyn Bolasky is till the Highlanders top offensive threat posting a slash line of .452/.541/.484 so far this season. He has 14 of the team's 61 hits on the year and has scored seven of UCR's 31 runs.

The Bearkats have two hitters boasting .300 plus batting averages on the season: Luke Plucheck (.417/.517/.625) and Ryan O'Hearn (.364/.533/.455).

Following this weekend's series, the Highlanders head to Tinseltown on Tuesday, March 6, to take on UCLA. First pitch is slated for 6 pm.
