Riverside—UC Riverside Men's Soccer athlete James Alewine is in his freshman season with the blue and gold, and we here at gohighlanders.com got to know him a little better this fall via our Highlander Highlights series.

... is a freshman from Monrovia, CA
   ... plays defensive midfielder and center
      ... loves to play video games
         ... majors in environmental engineering
            ... volunteers with young children
               ... would never eat oysters
His favorite quote is "If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do, don't stop moving forward."
His greatest achievement so far has been playing with the Chives USA Reserve team.
James would like to learn how to become a master chef.
If he could witness any event, he would like to see the Barcelona season played by Eto'o, Ronaldinho, and Messi.
