Riverside—The UC Riverside Track Facility plays host to the 2015 Big West Track & Field Championships over the next two weekend's, with the multi-events slated for May 8-9 and individual event championships taking place May 15-16.
Fans may attend the Multi-Events on May 8-9 free of charge, and single-day passes for May 15 and 16 are available at the door for $12 for adults and $7 for children, seniors and students.
The Heptathlon gets underway at 1 pm PT today with the 100m Hurdles, followed by the High Jump, Shot Put, and 200m. The Decathlon begins at 1:30 pm with the 100m, followed by the Long jump, Shot Put, High Jump, and the 400m.
The Decathlon gets things started on Saturday, May 9 at 11 am with the 110m Hurdles, followed by the Discus, Pole Vault, Javelin, and 1,500m. The final three events of the Haptathlon commence at 1 pm with the Long Jump followed by the Javelin and 800m.
UC Riverside's Danielle Littleton is favored to win the Heptathlon. She enters the championships with a top score of 5,074 set at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic back on March 25-26. That is more than 500 points ahead of her nearest competitor, Taylor Frank from Cal State Fullerton.
Jazmine Harper (4,380) is ranked third in the Big West and Kristina Cornejo (2,650) is ranked 13th.
On the men's side, Mathew Sam is ranked eighth in conference with 3,931 points.
