Riverside–The Highlanders will take their first trip away from Amy S. Harrison Field since their game against #8 Washington on February 16th, and will travel south to take on the University of San Diego Toreros on Wednesday, March 29th at 2 pm.
UCR is coming off a successful weekend hosting the UC Riverside Classic going 4-1 picking up two wins against UMKC (6-2) and Pacific (5-4) in the tournament finale Sunday.

Jenna Curtan led the way for the Highlanders with a team high seven RBIs to go with a .545 batting average and .625 on-base percentage.
Maddy Richard continued her success from the leadoff spot with seven hits and was a perfect 5-5 stealing bases to push her season total to 18. Richard ranks 26th in the NCAA with 0.69 stolen bases per game, and is 38th nationally drawing 0.77 walks per contest–both figures lead the Big West Conference.
The Highlanders pitching staff was strong yet again pitching to a 3.82 ERA for the tournament having been supported by a defense that turns 0.57 double plays a game, which places them 7th in the nation.
Tayler Misfeldt had a team best 2.32 ERA over four appearances (9 IP) picking up three wins while holding opposing hitters to a .182 batting average. Misfeldt now leads UCR in wins (7) and strikeouts (44) over seven starts and 54.2 innings.
The USD Toreros (13-15) are heading back home after a weekend in Santa Barbara for the Gaucho Classic II. The Toreros finished the tournament with a 1-3 record, splitting two games against Seattle U, and dropping both against UCSB.
Sophomore Taylor Spence is coming off back-to-back games where she has reached base in every at bat, going 1-1 with 3 walks in their 7-5 win over Seattle, and a 4-4 performance in their final game, a 4-3 loss to the Gauchos. Spence leads the team with a .429 batting average and 39 hits.
Senior Megan Sabbatini appeared in every game for the Toreros last weekend, pitching a total of 18.2 innings and picking up the sole win of the weekend over Seattle. Sabbatini is now 4-8 (13 starts) with a 5.27 ERA over 70.1 innings.
