Women's Golf Heads to Fresno State Classic March 5-6

Fresno, Calif. – The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team will be on the road this week to compete in the Fresno State Classic, March 5-6 at Copper River Country Club in Fresno, CA.Â

BATTLE AT THE ROCK RECAP
UC Riverside finished in a tie for third-place out of 14 teams as the host of the Battle at the Rock from Feb. 12-13, putting up a team score of 886. Junior Hana Furuichi (215) and senior Hannah Facchini (220) took individual finishes of 6th and 10th, respectively, to lead the way for the Highlanders, who had two top-10 individuals for the first time this season.
FURUICHIÂ ON FIRE
Furuichi's Battle at the Rock score of 72-68-75 (215) was nine strokes better than her previous season-best mark, set when she recorded 77-71-76 (224) at the Aggie Invitational back in October.
HISTORY AT FRESNO STATE CLASSIC
This will be UC Riverside's second year participating at the Fresno State Classic. Last year, the team tied for second with Cal Poly and Fresno State with a final score of 893 after three rounds.
HOMECOMING
Clovis, CA native and Buchanan High School grad Krista Twet will be competing as an individual at the Fresno State Classic. Copper River Country Club was the same course she competed on in high school.
Facchini, originally from Hanford, CA, will also be competing close to home.
