RIVERSIDE, Calif.- The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team will hit the road for the second time this week as the Highlanders travel to Palm Desert, CA for the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate. UCR will face a pool of 11 other teams this Saturday and Sunday in a three-round tournament at The Classic Club.

The Highlanders are no stranger to this tournament as they were crowned champions in 2014 after shooting a 297 in the opening round and closing out the contest with a 296.

This will be the second tournament of the week for UC Riverside as the team took 14th place in the Golfweek Conference Challenge just two days ago. Senior Jakeishya Le led the way for the Highlanders placing T-25th with a score of +4.

The competition will feature teams from several different conferences and two Big West teams in Cal State Fullerton and CSUN.

The Classic Club is a par-72 course with a yardage of 6,097.
