LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC Riverside completed another successful outing this weekend, competing at the UC San Diego-hosted Triton Invitational at the Triton Track & Field Stadium.
Shiloh Corrales-Nelson placed eighth in both the hammer throw and discus throw on Friday, with marks of 50.30m and 43.23m, respectively. The sophomore put up a 13.22m in the shot put on Saturday for a new collegiate best.
UCR had two competitors in Saturday's women's javelin, with freshmen
Juliana Base (28.69m) and
Jazmyne Barron (25.85m) representing the Highlanders. Barron smashed her previous collegiate best by almost four meters.
Rounding out Saturday's field events was
JT Ober III, who competed in the javelin (55.60m) and discus throw (48.24m). Ober's discus mark was the furthest for a Highlander this season on the men's side by almost two meters.
UC Riverside will have a busy week coming up, with April 14-16 split between the Mt. SAC Relays, the Beach Invitational and the Bryan Clay Invite.
