RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Chelsea Aninyei has been named the Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday. This is her second career Big West weekly award and UC Riverside's second in as many weeks. 

She's also UCR's first repeat Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week since Tayler Fleming (2014-17). 

Aninyei posted her second triple jump win of the year this past weekend with a 12.85m/42-02.00 at the Vince O'Boyle Classic. The redshirt senior has now set the UC Irvine-hosted event's meet record in back-to-back seasons. 

Her new mark leads the Big West, ranks second in the Division I West Region, and ranks 11th in the nation. She also spearheads a women's triple jump group that ranks second nationally, according to the newest USTFCCCA event squad rankings. 

UC Riverside heads to the San Francisco Bay Area this weekend for the Mike Fanelli Track Classic and Stanford Invitational, April 3 and 4.
