COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Kate Villegas shot a 69 for the second consecutive round this early season and UC Riverside is tied for seventh after 18 holes at the Coeur D'Alene Resort Invitational in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. 

UCR started on holes 15 through 18 and collected eight birdies on the day. 

Villegas had a fantastic front nine with three birdies while shooting for par on the remaining six holes to be 3-under at the turn. The junior started on 16 and bogeyed 10 and 12 before bouncing back with birdie number four on 14. 

Tiffany Le is in contention for another top-15 finish after shooting a 72 on day one and tying for 15th. Vanessa Betancourt (T63), Mylan Hirata (T71) and Gabi Keiger (T93) rounded out the Highlander lineup.

UC Riverside collectively went 3-under on the first hole and 2-under on 15 thanks to Hirata's eagle. Kiger was one of three Highlanders to birdie the first hole, ending her day with birdies on one and 17 for a strong start and finish.
