RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Three UC Riverside men's basketball games for the 2023-24 season have been selected as potential wildcard matchups to be nationally televised on the ESPN family of networks, it was announced on Tuesday by the Big West.
The Highlanders' three games in contention are as follows: January 13 at Hawaii at 7:00 p.m. on ESPNU, February 22 vs. UC San Diego at 8:00 p.m. on ESPNU and March 2 vs. Hawaii at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN2. All times are Pacific.
The ESPN linear network schedule includes five regular season conference matchups and the final three games at the 2024 Hercules Tires BIg West Men's Basketball Championship. All five regular season Big West contests will appear on ESPN2 or ESPNU, and four of the five games will be selected through a "wildcard" format in which pairings will be determined and announced no later than 10 days prior to each contest.
UC Riverside has appeared on ESPNU three times in the past two seasons, facing UC Irvine on the road last season after securing a pair of statement victories in front of a national audience in 2021-22. The Highlanders first erased an 11-point first-half deficit to hand Hawaii its first Big West loss before setting a since-broken program record with Big West win number nine in a 75-72 win at Cal State Fullerton.
