RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside opened its spring 2024 campaign on Sunday at the Victoria Club in Riverside with a dual win over UC Irvine, 17-3. The non-conference Big West matchup between the local rivals was an unconventional dual match, played as a combination of best ball and head to head match play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UC Riverside swept the front nine holes earning six of six points.
- The Highlanders won five singles matches on the back nine, tying one and dropping just one of seven matches.
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Gabrielle Kiger's round against Coco Yang was the only match played as straight head-to-head match play for 18 holes, and Kiger defeated Yang four and three.
- Maleyna Gregorio defeated Kiana Briggs four and three as well.
