PALM DESERT, Calif. - UC Riverside played the second and final round of the Long Beach State Tri-Dual on Friday at the Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• UC Rierside was 12-over for the day.  
• Vanessa Betancourt tied for third with a 69 (-1) to cap off the event, posting a clean back nine and birdying the seventh hole.  
• Mitzi Duarte finished ninth for UCR after posting a 72 (+2) on Friday with birdies on three, seven and 14. Janna Andaya rounded out the Highlanders' top 10 presence with a tie for 10th. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

• Six out of seven Highlanders bested their scores from day one in Palm Desert – Mylan Hirata matched her day one score with an 82 (+12).  
• Betancourt has now posted two sub-70 rounds her in last four and fifth overall on the season.  
• Duarte's 72 was a season low for the freshman, her lowest round since posting a 73 (+1) in the third round of the season-opening Timpanagos Collegiate Classic.
