Highlanders Finish on a High Note in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. - UC Riverside track and field finished its competing at the MPSF Championships at the Podium in Spokane on Monday morning and afternoon.   

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Linda Perez started day two with a bang, taking second in a hotly-contested mile in a new lifetime-best 4:53.69. 
  • Reggie Day took third in his section in the men's 400m with a new lifetime best of 48.19, now the No. 2 overall mark in school history.  
  • The Highlanders' 4x400m relay tandem of Saniyah Starks, Diyana Hackley, Sierra Sutton and Raykiyat Olukoju took second at MPSF with a 3:46.53 that now ranks second in school history. 

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

  • UCR saw its second record of the MPSF Championships fall in the morning with Starks' 54.15 in the 400m.  

UP NEXT 

  • UC Riverside turns its attention to the outdoor season with Friday's Riverside City Invitational at Riverside City College.
