LOS ANGELES - UC Riverside picked up plenty of Big West qualifying marks on Saturday at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational at Drake Stadium.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• UCR's women's 4x100 relay team of D'Lainey Nakamoto, Raykiyat Olukoju, Jessica Boyd and Olivia McIntosh-Adams started Saturday with the No. 2 time in program history at 45.83. The Highlanders' all-freshman B squad of Kamea Hunter, Kendall Dorton, Natalia Carrillo and Nilah Okon secured fourth in the event.  
• UC Riverside went three and four in the men's 110mH with a lifetime-best 15.34 from Ebba Adinew.  
• Liam Carr and Reggie Day secured Big West qualifying marks in the men's 400m. The Highlanders took three of the top four spots in the event while Saniyah Starks lowered her lifetime best on the women's side.  
• Jason Sherman opened his outdoor 200m racing with a heat win just a hair off his lifetime best, running a Big West-qualifying 21.71.  
• Kyan Thomas (14.95m) and Calvin Black (14.72m) went first and second in the men's triple jump. UCR occupied four of the top seven spots on the women's side, including a lifetime-best 12.15m from Chelsea Aninyei.  
• Melisa Toilolo posted a second-place finish and a Big West qualifier in the women's shot put with a 13.85m.  

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

• UC Riverside won two events on the men's side and two on the women's side at UCLA. 
• Olukoju won the outdoor 200m for the third time in her career, making it also her second event win on the day.  
• Elijah Yoshinaga posted his third straight top-four finish in the long jump, winning the event on Saturday with a 6.92m.
