FULLERTON, Calif. - UC Riverside closed up shop on its six-game road swing on Friday night at Anderson Family Field with 8-5 and 3-1 defeats to Cal State Fullerton.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Nadia Witt immediately pushed her on-base streak to 19 games with a single up the middle to lead off game two.  
• Maddie Heinlin turned away five of her first six batters, making her 10th start of the year in the front end of the doubleheader.  
• UCR's opening run of game two was set up by the Highlanders' fourth leadoff hit of the evening. Elise Nishimura singled to left center to start the fifth and came home on a fielding error after advancing to third on a double from Gigi Araki.  
• Araki scored on a single from Witt before UCR made it a five-run fifth with a three-run home run from Jackie Alday.  
• UC Riverside tied the series finale on a single into right from Lauryn Garewal in the third but was unable to push anything else across.  

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

• UCR made it a point to jump on Fullerton offensively, getting a leadoff hit in four of its first five innings in game two of the series and game one on the day. 
• Araki is now the third Highlander this season with multiple doubles in a game, joining Alday and Kat Montuya.  
• The Highlanders' tying RBI in Friday's opener stemmed from a two-out walk from Nadia Witt, giving the sixth-year outfielder back-to-back seasons with a 20-game on-base streak.
