Highlanders Drop Game Two to Gauchos

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Although the Highlanders had nine hits and scored four runs against the Gauchos, UC Riverside dropped the second game of their final Big West series of the season against University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), 20-4.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- The Gauchos' lead-off hitter broke onto the scoreboard first with a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning, followed by a three-RBI double to extend their advantage to 4-0. They added five runs in the third inning to secure a commanding lead.
- In the top of the fourth, Rudy Rodriguez IV hit a solo home run to put the Highlanders offense on the board.
- Rudy came in clutch again for UC Riverside in the top of the eighth, starting off a three-run inning for the Highlanders with an RBI single.Â
- Tyler Weaver doubled in the eighth to score Rodriguez and Jayden Sanchez.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTSÂ
- Rodriguez went two for four with two RBI, and two runs including his home run.
UP NEXTÂ
- The Highlanders play their final game of Big West play tomorrow against the Gauchos. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 25.Â
