SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - UC Riverside kicked off its run at a Big West title with the conference championships on Friday and Saturday, beginning with multis competition at Cal Poly's Miller & Capriotti Athletics Complex.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Monea Jennings was the lone UCR competitor on the weekend, finishing 10th out of 15 with 4,601 points.  
• Jennings got her heptathlon going with a fantastic start in the 100mH, posting a 14.06 for third place in the event. 
• The senior kept it going with a tie for sixth in the high jump.  

HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS 

• Jennings' 14.06 in the 100mH was .03 meters off her season best.

• UCR resumes the Big West Championship next weekend with championship competition from San Luis Obispo.
