SACRAMENTO, Calif. – UC Riverside cross country closed its 2025 season on Friday at the NCAA West Regional, competing against one of the deepest and most competitive fields in the nation.
WOMEN'S XC
UC Riverside women's cross country placed 30th overall with 821 points in the 6-kilometer race. Stanford won the regional title with 66 points, followed by Oregon (75) and Boise State (114).
Joy Weber led the Highlanders with a 142nd-place finish in 22 minutes, 14 seconds. Ingrid Tamayo followed in 147th at 22:16.8, while Nicole Alfred finished 152nd in 22:20.5. Isatu N'Diaye crossed 182nd at 22:37.6, and Anna Field rounded out the scoring five in 198th at 23:00.1.
Additional Highlander competitors included Alexis Corvese (202nd, 23:04.3) and Victoria Valenzuela (245th, 24:09.2).
MEN'S XC
UC Riverside men's cross country sent two individuals to the 10-kilometer regional championship race.
Eshaan Hussain led the Highlanders with a 134th-place finish in 32 minutes, 07.1 seconds, closing strong in his NCAA regional debut. Baptiste Garderes followed in 175th at 33:11.7.
The NCAA West Regional marks the end of the 2025 cross country season for UC Riverside, with the Highlanders now shifting focus to winter training and the upcoming track and field campaign.
