Highlander Cross Country earns national distinction for fourth straight year

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside Cross Country earned All-Academic distinction from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the fourth year in a row.

Both programs earned their respective honors with their highest GPAs since the COVID-19 pandemic.

UCR women clocked in with a 3.44 team GPA, while the Highlander men put up a 3.4 in the classroom. Jarron Chua, Baptiste Garderes, and Kai Marotta earned Big West All-Academic on the men's side earlier this academic year, while Lexi Corvese, Sophie Moser-Smith, Isatu N'Diaye, Ingrid Tamayo, Victoria Valenzuela, and Joy Weber made it on the women's side.

Garderes was UC Riverside's highest Big West finisher on the men's side in the top 35, and N'Diaye paced the women with a team-high 18th-place finish.
