SEATTLE, Wash. - UC Riverside closed out its first meet of 2025 with a strong performance on Saturday at the UW Invitational.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• UCR's first top 10 mark of the day went to Natalia Carrillo (7.74). The sophomore bagged her second such mark of the weekend, this time in the 60.  
• Mercy Ehiemere (54.61) and Malik Bolton (48.46) both cracked the top 10 in the 400. Ehiemere picked up her first top 10 mark with UCR, while Bolton also recorded his first of the season.  
• Jacoby Madise ran a strong 6.84 in the 60 final for third. Olivia McIntosh-Adams (7.68) and Raykiyat Olukoju (7.74) joined Madise in the final.  
• Mateo Garcia recorded his first top 10 mark as a Highlander with a 15.94m/52-03.50 in the shot put.  
• Saniyah Starks, Melanie Ceballos, Mercy Ehiemere and Raykiyat Olukoju ran a 3:43.52 for a new record and the win in the 4x400.  
• On the men's side of the event, Reggie Day, Malik Bolton, Arthur Celestine Jr. and Andrew Jackson cracked the top 10 with a 3:17.72.  
• True freshman Kazu Kimura cracked the top 10 in the long jump on his second day of collegiate competition with a 6.92m/22-10.75.  
• Chelsea Aninyei closed out the day with top 10 marks in the long jump (5.59m/18-4.25) and high jump (1.59m/5-02.50).  

NOTABLES 

• Ehiemere took over the No. 2 spot in program history in her debut run for UC Riverside.  
• UCR ended the day with a school record in a relay for the second time this weekend.
