Highlanders Showcase Distance Running at Husky Classic

Mendoza, N’Diaye shine in UCR’s second trip to Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash. - UC Riverside returned to Seattle and the Pacific Northwest on February 14 and 15 for the Husky Classic at Dempsey Indoor.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Josh Mendoza made the most of UCR's lone race on Friday with a 8:10.89 in the 3000 for No. 2 all-time in program history.  
  • Isatu N'Diaye cracked the top 10 in the indoor mile with a 4:55.47 on Saturday morning.  
  • Andrew Parkinson ran a 1:55.58 in the 800, and Morgan Nygren made her UCR debut in the mile. 

NOTABLES 

  • Mendoza picked up his second top 10 mark of the season, both coming at Dempsey Indoor.  

UP NEXT 

  • UCR returns to action next weekend with the MPSF Championships in Spokane.
