UCR Drops Opener at CSUN

The Highlanders sent Justin Estrada to the mound for the Friday night start and he dropped to 0-2 on the year.
CSUN struck for four in the first inning and tacked on a run in the third. They added three runs in the fourth and fifth, but the first inning was all that CSUN starter, Jon Mocherman needed. He went five innings allowing two hits.
This was the second time this year that UCR had been shut out. They scrapped together five hits, two of which came from second baseman, Manoah Chapman. He reached base three times tonight. Chapman raised his average to .282, which is second on the team to Robert Pitts.
The Matadors and the Highlanders are back at it tomorrow with a 4:30 p.m., first pitch.
