Cardinals Call Up Former Highlander Andre Granillo

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that former Highlander standout; Andre Granillo will join the big club today against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Granillo is from Hemet, Calif., and played at West Valley High School. He suited up for the Highlanders from 2019-2021.

During his time at UC Riverside, Granillo appeared in 42 games with two starts and had a career record of 5-1. In his 55.2 innings pitched for UCR he struck out 74 batters and posted a 5.98 ERA.

The Cardinals selected Granillo in the 14th round (421st overall pick) in the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft. His first stop in St. Louis' organization was in Palm Beach, then in 2022 he saw time with the Peoria Chiefs and the Springfield Cardinals. Over the past two seasons he pitched in AA (Springfield) and AAA (Memphis).

With Memphis he posted an 8-2 record, a 4.01 ERA and recorded 30 saves.
