UC Riverside Men’s Basketball Adds Three Impact Transfers in Godfrey, Worthy, and Grady

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC Riverside men's basketball head coach Gus Argenal announced the additions of Dylan Godfrey, Marqui Worthy, and Osiris Grady to the Highlanders' 2025–26 roster.

Godfrey, a 6-foot-8 forward from Newport Beach, Calif., appeared in all 31 games at Canisius in 2024–25, making 23 starts. He averaged 8.6 points per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 32.0 percent from three-point range, and 85.2 percent from the free-throw line. Godfrey scored in double figures 12 times, including a season-high 22-point outing at Marist on Feb. 21. He finished the season strong, averaging 11.4 points per game over the team's final five contests.

Before Canisius, Godfrey spent the 2023–24 season at East Los Angeles College, where he averaged 11.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 50.6 percent from the floor and nearly 39 percent from beyond the arc. He played his high school basketball at Pacifica Christian in Orange County.

"Dylan is a Southern California native who played in an elite high school program at Pacifica Christian under Jeff Berokoff and also starred at East Los Angeles Community College under John Mosley," said coach Argenal. "He is a scorer who excels stretching the floor from the three and can create tough closeouts with his ability to attack off the bounce. We love his experience already spending a year at the Division 1 level, producing and gaining valuable minutes for his development. He has a scrappiness and competitiveness that fits Highlander basketball and I am fired up to help him grow his game in the Big West."

Worthy, a 6-foot-3 guard from Anaheim, Calif., played two seasons at UMass. As a sophomore in 2024–25, he scored a career-high 18 points against Dayton and added 12 points in just 21 minutes in a win over NJIT. He appeared in 24 games as a freshman, including an 11-point outing on 5-of-8 shooting versus Quinnipiac.

A former standout at Sonora High School and Veritas Academy, Worthy averaged 20 points per game during his high school career and helped lead his teams to two league championships.

"Marqui transfers to us from the Atlantic 10 and returns home where he prepped at Veritas Academy under George Zedan," said coach Argenal. "He is a tough and physical guard that draws contact and does a great job of dictating tempo. We love his spirit and leadership abilities and look forward to him spearheading our attack on both ends of the floor. We want to be defensive minded as a program and Marqui brings an edge every day to the court. I am excited to bring a student athlete to the UCR campus that truly fits our mission and vision for success."

Grady, a 6-foot-9 forward from Las Vegas, Nev., comes to Riverside after two seasons at Utah Valley. As a sophomore, he started 25 of 32 games and helped lead the Wolverines to a WAC regular season title and a berth in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). He scored a career-high 17 points in a key win over Seattle U and posted a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double against Bethesda in December.

As a freshman, Grady was named to the WAC All-Freshman Team after playing in 32 games and scoring a season-high 16 points against Liberty.

"Osiris is a proven winner, and we are excited to have him bring that mindset to UC Riverside," said coach Argenal. "His game is continuing to develop, and we look to help him take the next step by stretching his game and building off his ability on the perimeter and in the paint. He makes impactful plays in big games whether it's knocking down threes, attacking the rim, or getting crucial rebounds. We welcome O to the Highlander Family!"

Together, Godfrey, Worthy, and Grady add experience, depth, and upside to a UC Riverside roster that continues to reload with competitive, high-character student-athletes ready to raise the bar in the Big West.
