RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The Highlanders battled throughout the match up but came up short in an 88–73 loss at Long Beach State at the Walter Pyramid.
Marqui Worthy led the Highlanders with a game-high 23 points, adding nine rebounds just shy of recording a double-double. Andrew Henderson joined him in double figures with 14 points, while also contributing four rebounds.
BJ Kolly finished with 14 points, while also knocking down all six of his free-throw attempts. Osiris Grady added nine points and provided a defensive presence inside, and Tyler Jones chipped in nine points and four rebounds.
Jailen Daniel-Dalton was active on the glass, pulling down eight rebounds, while also recording two blocks and a steal. As a team, UC Riverside generated 40 points in the paint and held a 15–8 edge in second-chance points.
UC Riverside shot 40.3 percent from the field and converted 19 of its 24 free throws, continuing to show efficiency at the line.
The Highlanders are back in the SRC Arena this Saturday, January 17th as they take on the Cal State Fullerton Titans.
