SAN DIEGO, Calif. - UC Riverside headed south to take on San Diego State tonight from Tony Gwynn Stadium. It was arguably the Highlanders best pitching performance on the year as they only surrendered one run, but San Diego State was a bit better shutting out UCR.
Joshua Martinez got the start for the Highlanders and went two innings, in what turned out to be a bullpen game for UC Riverside.Â
Ryan Higgins gave up the lone run and took the loss moving to 1-4 on the season. The Aztecs scored in the bottom of the fourth on a two out single by Dawson Santana. That was all the offense they needed.
Next up for the Highlanders is a three game conference match with CSUN starting Thursday at 2PM from The Plex.
