UCR Women's Soccer Drops 1-0 Squeaker To Sacramento State

Riverside—The UCR Women's Soccer Team dropped a tight 1-0 decision to Sacramento State on Friday evening in the first-ever night game at the UC Riverside Soccer Stadium.
The Hornets got the better of the play in the first and dented the back of the net with just over seven minutes remaining in the period outshooting the Highlanders 8-5 along the way. UC Riverside came out of the halftime break in a more aggressive fashion outshooting Sacramento State 16-8 in the second period. Despite several good looks, the Highlanders were never able to get past the Hornets' keeper.
Next up for UCR is a Sunday afternoon match aginst San Jose State at 1 p.m. at the UC Riverside Soccer Stadium.
